Three sessions of three classes per session offered at Niantic Bay Yacht Club
You will learn how to rig and handle a boat, sailing safety, use of a compass and charts, coming about and how to cast off and dock – don’t know what that means? We’ll cover sailing terminology too! All taught by experienced instructors in a non-intimidating setting.

INTRO TO SAILING (ADULT)
Session 1 - Class meets 6/13, 6/20, and 6/27 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Session 2 - Class meets 7/2, 7/11, 7/15 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Session 3 - Class meets 7/25, 8/1, and 8/8 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Adult Sailing 2023 RECAP
A renaissance of new adult sailors at the Niantic Bay Yacht Club continued last season with our Adult Sailing program! The beginner’s class was aimed at non-sailors, spouses of sailors or those who have just a passing familiarity with the sport. It taught the basics - such as an understanding of wind and current, rigging the boat, tying knots, tacking, gybing, upwind, downwind and man overboard. Our Intermediate Class targeted intermediate, middle of the pack, Wednesday Night type racers who wanted to progress.
All Adult Sailing classes were completely sold out last season! Sailing in Ensigns and lead by Chris Cooper and Ken Shluger, we loved getting new sailors out onto the water enjoying themselves this season and look forward to providing more opportunities for adult sailors this year!
